About the choirs:
The Sherwood Community Chamber Choir is directed by William Evans, who founded the choir in 2014. Evans taught choral music at Sherwood High School for 37 years before retiring in 2016. Evans is supported by Nancy Nyland, Assistant Director of SCCC. SCCC is an auditioned volunteer chorus whose goal is to enrich the community and its members through choral singing and concerts.
Launched this fall, the Sherwood Community Youth Choir is directed by Ashley Grantham, a music educator and Sherwood HS graduate. Grantham is supported by Michele Rohan, Assistant Director/Collaborative Accompanist, and Zoe Bullit, Choral Manager. SSYC was created to help fill the need for singing opportunities for children in the Olney community, and the choir consists of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students inspired to be the next generation of singers.
