Sherwood Community Chamber Choir to perform in Concert, “Common Ground”
Olney, MD: The Sherwood Community Chamber Choir’s second Spring Concert, “Common Ground,” will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at Sandy Spring Friends Meeting. The concert will feature performances by the Sherwood Community Chamber Choir, the Sherwood Community Chamber Ensemble, and the Italy Tour Ensemble, a group of 14 singers who will be touring in northern Italy this June.
The setlist includes a selection of recent and old choir favorites, as well as five new pieces.
SCCC consists of more than 40 singers, many of whom attended Sherwood High School and participated in choirs led by choir director William Evans.

About the choirs:
The Sherwood Community Chamber Choir is directed by William Evans, who founded the choir in 2014. Evans taught choral music at Sherwood High School for 37 years before retiring in 2016. Evans is supported by Nancy Nyland, Assistant Director of SCCC. SCCC is an auditioned volunteer chorus whose goal is to enrich the community and its members through choral singing and concerts.
Founded in 2022, the Sherwood Community Chamber Ensemble consists of 12 members of the Community Choir and focuses on a small ensemble choral music repertoire. The current repertoire includes songs by Eric Whitacre, Seth Houston, and Moses Hogan.
